The mayor of Doncaster for once looks a happy man. He is bound to get that smile on his face after looking at the developments that are taking place around in his area of jurisdiction. Doncaster, Mayor Peter Davies and the town’s Council cabinet member for business Coun Jonathan Wood received the invitation to make their presence felt at the starting of a new distribution hub at Armthorpe. This distribution hub belonged to Scotts Miracle-Gro.
Te site has already given a decent number of job opportunities. It made available all of twenty five jobs. This number may as well go up to forty and even fifty when the shipment season is on its peak. The company, Scotts Miracle-Gro is in the mean while a leading marketer and branded consumer lawn and garden products. In fact it ranks at the top spot in the whole world. Thus there are no doubts what so ever of the multibillion dollar turnover that the company gets yearly.
The Global Supply Chain plays an ever important role here and its smooth working is of prime importance for the company to in turn continue work effortlessly. The company’s Senior Vice President of the Global Supply Chain, Dave Swihart, was in the mean while also present at the venue for the opening of the new distribution hub.
He was called into cut the ribbon. As to why was the place chosen to be the distribution hub among other areas, Scotts UK logistics manager, Matt Payne spoke of how the place has an excellent transport links. Add to this the fact that Doncaster is also in very close proximity to the company’s production house in Howden.
