AUSTRALIAN PM JULIA GILLARD TELLS PEOPLE TO TAKE THEIR REFUNDS

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has actually gone on to request firmly, about 1.3 million Australian families, to get their ‘back-to-school costs’ receipts which would thus have them claim money from the Education Tax Refund. The prime minister wants to create awareness in the families as to get the savings that the refund would help them with.

PM Gillard herself personally went shopping with a group of children to a shop in Perth that offers office supplies. Everything from stationary, textbooks, computer equipments to other related buying can have the cost totally refunded for. This may be done by simply applying for the refund at tax time.

The massive $4.4 billion scheme, allows families to claim a good fifty percent of eligible education expenses. This means they may thus get a refund of as much as $397. This is for the primary school students. As far as the secondary school students are concerned, they may claim as much as $794 in refunds.

In the end this would greatly help the families to ease of the financial pressure which is otherwise taking its toll on them. This is considering the current difficult times of inflation which is yet to completely ease off.

The prime minister is very much enthusiastic in making people aware of the claims that they may thus have access to. She is also planning to come up with an advertising campaign which will thus remind people of the claims which they can make.

"We want to see families making those claims.” She went optimistically. There are a good 1.3 million families which are eligible for the claims. Incidentally most of them are not even aware of the fact that they are eligible for the claims.
